Premium Protection for Your Natural Stone Surfaces

Restoring, protecting, and preserving the timeless beauty of marble and natural stone—serving homeowners, contractors, and interior designers across Greater Vancouver.

The Anti-Etch™ Difference

The fear of etching, staining, and maintenance headaches has long kept developers and designers from using marble and other natural stones in their projects. Anti-Etch™ changed that. Developed by industry veterans, Anti-Etch™ offers a long-lasting, invisible barrier that protects surfaces from acid etching and staining—without compromising the look or feel of the stone.

Legacy Stone Solutions is proud to be one of the first certified Anti-Etch applicators in Western Canada.

What Causes Stone Etching?

Acidic everyday substances—like lemon juice, vinegar, coffee, wine, and even certain toothpastes or skincare products—can quickly react with marble, leaving behind dull, etched marks on the surface. While restoration is possible, it can be time-consuming and costly. More importantly, traditional repairs don’t prevent future etching from
happening again.

Why Anti-Etch™?

Anti-Etch™ creates a nearly invisible, ultra-thin protective layer that stops etching and staining caused by acidic foods, drinks, and cleaners. This advanced solution forms a durable shield between your marble surface and everyday hazards—without altering the look or feel of the stone. With Anti-Etch™, you can enjoy your space freely—host the dinner, pour the wine, and live beautifully, without the worry.

How does the process work?

Step 1 - Surface Preparation

We carefully remove any existing etching, stains, or imperfections. This crucial preparation step ensures the surface is clean, smooth, and fully receptive to the Anti-Etch™ treatment. By eliminating previous damage, we create the ideal foundation for long-lasting protection and flawless results. It’s the difference between a quick fix—and a surface built to endure.

Step 2 – Apply Anti-Etch™

Next, we roll on the Anti-Etch™ coating in even, controlled layers. The treatment is left to settle for 45 minutes, allowing it to self-level and bond with the surface. During this time, it begins smoothing out minor irregularities while creating a uniform foundation for curing. This careful application is key to both beauty and durability.

Step 3 – UV Curing Process

Once the treatment has set, we expose the surface to ultraviolet (UV) light to cure and harden the coating. This step transforms the treatment into a durable, invisible shield.  The result is a powerful protective barrier that resists etching, staining, and wear—without changing the natural look or feel of the stone.

Step 4 – Custom Finish Options

The final step is all about aesthetics. After curing, we refine the surface to your desired finish: matte for a subtle, natural look; honed for a soft, silky texture; or polished for a striking high-gloss shine. Our expert polishing allows for complete customization—giving you a finish that matches your vision, without compromising on protection.

Recent Projects

P & J Downing, Port Moody

Brendan applied Anti-Etch to our countertops in both bathrooms, as well as our kitchen island.

He was so professional, with great attention to detail. We are so happy with the result! He is also very tidy and careful of his surroundings. He taped everything off and cleaned up at night for the next day. We would highly recommend Legacy Stone for your countertop protection.

Marci B, Vancouver

Brendan does amazing work.

My husband and I have built/renovated 5 homes over the past 20 years, and having Brendan protect our countertops

in our most recent house was some of the best reno money we have ever spent. He made the marble look perfect, and ensured that it would stay looking perfect for years to come!
